Mr & Mrs Leslie, Blyth, Northumberland

Background

Mr and Mrs Leslie wanted to convert their existing garage extension so that it housed an en-suite wet room for Mrs Leslie, who suffers from MS. They also needed an access ramp to the property. It was important to them that the ramp blended in with their existing block paving, and also that the wet room was functional, but also looked the part. The Leslie’s carried out their own research and asked Easibathe & Easiaccess to provide an estimate.

“Before we had the work done we spoke to lots of people, and anyone who’s ever used them is happy with the service.”

Project

Once appointed as contractors Easibathe & Easiaccess provided showering wet-room facilities including the installation of a Clos-o-Mat toilet and washbasin. The existing central heating boiler was also re-sited and the internal doors throughout the house were widened to improve access around the home.

They also replaced the external windows, doors and created a block paved access ramp to the front of the property.

“Workmen suggested aqua-panelling instead of tiles in the wet-room which is great as it means no need for grout – which means it looks great and will stay that way.”

Outcome

The house is now fully accessible for Mrs Leslie and the installation looks fantastic and was finished to a very high standard. The access ramp blends in with the existing paving and looks like it has always been there and the ramp has been built with a ‘lip’ so the wheelchair can’t go over the edges.

“They were excellent, the thing I liked most was they came to our house and didn’t leave until the job was completed. They built an en-suite for my wife who suffers from MS, and at the front of the extension they built a wheelchair charging point, which is really convenient.”

Testimonial

“Quality”

“Spot on”

“The workmen were excellent, they talked to us and consulted us on any work they carried out. They were friendly, happy to make changes, and kept us up to date. Throughout the process I felt like we had control of the project.”

Also Easibathe & Easiaccess’ after-care is second to none. If we had a question or if anything wasn’t right we could ring them up and they’d have someone round in a couple of days.

In fact even the Council inspector who came round to inspect the work said it was one of the best (of this type of project) he’d seen.”
