Mr Anthony Tyler, Northumberland
Background
Anthony, 24 has been in a wheelchair since he was a toddler and his adapted bedroom and adjoining shower room had become too small for him. He needed more space in his bedroom and a new wet room.
Project
The existing bedroom and shower room were knocked into one large bedroom and the existing garage was turned into a wet room for Anthony. There was a significant drop down to the garage so the floor had to be raised and the roof also had to be raised. The single storey extension was completed in December.
Outcome
The new bedroom has new features such as a hoisting system, and is a great deal more user friendly allowing Anthony to be more independent and giving the family and carer peace of mind. The wet room has features such as non-slip specialist flooring, a wall fixed shower seat and carer screen, to give Anthony space and privacy and the family are delighted with the results.

Testimonial
“It’s lush – Anthony is so unsociable now because he just wants to be in his new bedroom! Easibathe and Easiaccess installed a hoisting system, which is brilliant and makes putting him to bed such a pleasure it used to be stressful. He has a better quality of life now little things like having lots of plug sockets and the TV in the right place have made such a difference. The team really listened to our idea, they understand that we’re the ones who know Anthony and what he needs and they wanted to make things as simple for all of us as possible.
The wet room is fab, better for Anthony, us and the carer. All in all very happy with the level of service received and the end result!”
